Currently, we seek experienced Underwriters to join the Celtic team.  As an underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating an applicants' overall medical history in order to determine who is an acceptable risk based upon the Company's underwriting guidelines, policies and procedures. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review all materials (e.g. application, claims/case history, medical information questionnaires, medical records, etc) to determine an applicants eligibility.
  • Underwrite plan changes, add-on's and rollovers.
  • Verify HIPAA eligibility.
  • Review Short Term applications when required.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding underwriting decisions.
  • Conduct phone interviews. 

 

Experience/Education/Skills

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Individual Health Underwriting experience.
  • Superior medical knowledge, including: up to date knowledge of prescription medications, ability to review/interpret medical histories and medical records for insurability purposes.
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills.
  • Accurate typing with a minimum of 35 wpm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Inside Sales Professional

We are looking for results oriented sales professionals to join our expanding sales force.  As a District Sales Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining long-term, value-added sales and service oriented business relationships with agents.  Handle inbound and outbound calls within a call center with the goal of increasing business, enhancing customer satisfaction and retaining agents.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Sell Celtic products and services and support agents’ sales efforts while functioning as a single point of contact for brokers by maintaining in-depth knowledge of Celtic’s products, services, policies and systems
  • Establish Celtic/agent relationship through telephone follow up to prospect leads generated by marketing
  • Retain agent relationships by explaining all of the available Celtic services and products; answering questions, providing pricing information, troubleshooting, and assisting with the completion and submission of applications
  • Interface with other departments in order to provide the highest level of customer service possible for agents
  • Strategically communicate with agents as outlined by senior management
  • Research territory to determine key geographic areas that afford the best opportunity for sales
  • Gather competitive data from agents for market research purposes

 Lead Software Architect

Our small development shop seeks a working a Lead Software Architect to lead a group of 6 developers.  Candidates must possess VB.NET programming and previous management experience. 

This position is responsible for managing the programming and business analyst staff which includes the following:  Feasibility studies of system modifications or enhancements, design, architecture, coding, testing of applications, implementation of the application changes, production support, analysis of workflow, analysis of data, maintenance of systems, plan specifications and evaluation of the business requirements of the organization from an Information Technologies standpoint   

The purpose of this position is to collaborate with the user departments, Help Desk, network and operations departments to deliver quality systems and enhancements to the company.   This requires strong business and technical knowledge, an understanding of various application platforms in use, and the current and future state of IT industry in general.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of Development Staff: To ensure quality of work and development of skills as well as to work toward quality improvements
  • Management of Projects: To ensure projects follow IT & PM Methodologies and are completed in a timely manner and the projects being worked on meet the overall goals of the organization
  • Business Systems Analysis: Participation on project teams in determining the most appropriate modification approach to meet the functional needs of the requesting department
  • Programming: Management of the code development required enhancing, developing or supporting the IT applications to assure quality work that is completed on time and within budget

 

Education/Experience

  • College Degree
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) Certification
  • Minimum of 9-10 years of overall IT experience
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Sr./Lead Application Developer, with extensive hands-on use of ASP.NET (1.0), VB.NET (6.0), MS SQL Server(2005/2000) and XML
  • Experience as a Technical Lead
  • Translating business requirements into functional specifications
  • Insurance background and familiarity with AS400, Genelco, Ultimus and workflow processes
  • Familiarity with debugging tools (VB Code Shield and Smart Assembly) 

 

Skills

  • Strong Project Management, Cost benefit analysis experience, Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work effectively with all areas/levels within the company
  • Strong planning and strategic skills, Vendor management skills, Budget management and planning skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, Troubleshooting skills, Teambuilding and management skills
  • Microsoft Products knowledge
  • Programming knowledge of .Net
